Alhumdulillah, I am thrilled to inform you that I successfully completed the London 2 Paris cycling challenge.
18 of us undertook the challenge. On Day 1, We set off from Whitechapel and cycled to Brighton covering just over 63 miles. Day 2 started early, cycling 11 miles from Brighton to Newhaven to catch a ferry to Dieppe. From Dieppe, we cycled 50 miles to Gournay En Bray. Finally on Day 3, we cycled 60 miles to finish our last leg of the challenge at the Eiffel Tower.
The adventure brought strangers from throughout the UK together. We bonded, had our ups and downs ( on the hills :)), punctures, strenuous rides in the rain , wind and sun. It was a struggle for many of us.
But we realised the struggle in parts of our Ummah is a lot more. This has all been in aid for a children’s trauma centre in Gaza and the Ummah Girls Academy in West Bengal.
I would like to personally thank all those that gave up their hard earned money to support the needy , your donations will go a long way with UWT to help save many lives insha Allah. Without your donations and encouragement we would not have found the willingness to complete this ride in the given conditions.
We still have around 6k to reach our 10k target.
If you haven’t donated yet, please do so via the following :
